Business Development Assistant Student Position

CMEOW is looking for a motivated and curious student to support business development, marketing, merchant outreach, and community growth as part of the Canada Summer Jobs program.

About the Role

This role is ideal for a student interested in marketing, business development, social media, and working with local merchants. You will help CMEOW grow its upcoming platform through outreach, onboarding support, and community engagement.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and reach out to potential merchants to join the CMEOW platform
  • Assist in preparing partnership materials, presentations, and outreach content
  • Conduct basic market research to support merchant acquisition strategies
  • Follow up with merchants and support onboarding activities
  • Create social media copy, brainstorm campaign ideas, and help drive user growth
  • Support influencer (KOL/KOC) outreach and collaborations
  • Provide basic customer support and help maintain community engagement
  • Analyze merchant and user data to identify trends and improve performance
  • Track user feedback and help evaluate promotional activities

What We're Looking For

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to speak and understand Chinese (Mandarin)
  • Familiarity with Xiao Hong Shu (RED) and other social media platforms
  • Interest in business development, marketing, or customer service
  • Basic knowledge of marketing, sales, or customer service
  • Experience with simple design tools is an asset
  • Self-motivated, organized, and eager to learn
  • Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
